Gravity Postcard: A Nostalgic Journey Through Virtual Empathy

Greetings from the future!

The Gravity Postcard will be introduced by the authors during the festival's Lightning Talks program and continue to exist as a stand-alone event.

This project is a work in progress which seeks to initiate a speculative model of Virtual Empathy magnifying the harmonious interdependence of humans and technology.

As researchers from the future we are sending letters through digital physics exploring how technology has reshaped our lives. Embodied through our Gravity Postcard is the study of human-technology interaction and its evolution. With questions designed to elicit empathic reasoning towards technology we wish to reevaluate how this symbiotic relationship came to be.

We’d like to invite you to participate in the Gravity Postcard exchange.

By clicking here, you will be redirected to the virtual postcard fill-up form to begin visualizing the future. All visions will be translated in a gravity sphere that will travel back to our Virtual Empathy lab.

You will have the opportunity to look back at this memory and assess your predictions in the Virtual Post Office.

It’s important that this study causes no rift in the space-time continuum therefore no ensuing inquiry regarding the future will be entertained.

Requirements for participants

To register for the introduction of the project, please register for the whole Lightning Talks session.

Otherwise, you will be able to participate in the Gravity Postcard exchange throughout the festival.
